Forest City Healing Centre (“FCHC”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to providing information and communication that is accessible, inclusive, and respectful of the dignity and independence of all individuals, including people with disabilities.
Our approach to accessibility reflects our values and supports equitable access to information and services.
1. Our Commitment
FCHC is guided by:
- The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its associated standards
- The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA
- CARF Behavioral Health expectations related to accessibility, inclusion, and non-discrimination
We strive to ensure that our information and communication are accessible to the widest possible audience.
2. Scope
This Accessibility Statement applies to:
- FCHC’s public information and communications
- Our website and digital content
- Core written and electronic materials used to share information with the public
This statement complements FCHC’s internal accessibility policies and procedures.
3. Accessibility Practices
FCHC aims to incorporate accessibility considerations by:
- Using clear, plain language wherever possible
- Structuring digital content with appropriate headings and readable layouts
- Considering colour contrast, font readability, and navigation clarity
- Including alternative text for images where appropriate
- Designing content to support keyboard navigation and screen readers
- Making reasonable efforts to reduce barriers in forms and documents
Where accessibility barriers are identified, we seek to address them in a timely and reasonable manner.
4. Continuous Improvement and Known Limitations
FCHC recognizes that accessibility is an ongoing process.
Some limitations may exist, such as:
- Older or legacy documents that are not fully accessible
- Occasional formatting issues in digital content
- Accessibility constraints within third-party platforms or tools not fully controlled by FCHC
We are committed to continuous improvement and will:
- Prioritize accessibility improvements for key and frequently accessed content
- Consider accessibility when selecting vendors, platforms, and design approaches
- Periodically review digital content with reference to WCAG 2.1 AA principles

FCHC welcomes feedback regarding accessibility and is committed to responding in a respectful and timely manner.

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed periodically and at least every two (2) years, or sooner if:
- AODA requirements change
- Accessibility standards or best practices evolve
- Feedback or review identifies new accessibility needs
