Forest City Healing Centre has undergone substantial renovations to meet current city requirements and support a safe, accessible residential environment. Upgrades focused on life-safety measures, accessibility-related improvements, and overall comfort, bringing a historic property into modern compliance while preserving its character and sense of calm.

The Space & Living Environment
Forest City Healing Centre is a clean, comfortable residential space designed to help men feel settled and supported during early recovery. The environment is intentionally calm, welcoming, and home-like rather than clinical, allowing guests to focus on routine, reflection, and connection.
Every element of the space is designed to reduce overstimulation and support emotional safety through thoughtful use of layout, colour, and lighting. While Forest City Healing Centre is not a medical or clinical facility, staff are present throughout the day and evening to provide consistency, support, and guidance. We maintain the space with care so guests can focus on their recovery without unnecessary distractions.

Forest City Healing Centre is located at 534 Queens Avenue in London, Ontario, chosen for its therapeutic setting, proximity to community services, and accessibility features, including elevator access.
Built in 1878 in the Second Empire architectural style, the property has served the London community for nearly 150 years. Over time, it has functioned as a private residence, a place of refuge, and a site for mental health and addiction-related support. The Sisters of St. Joseph once operated early detox and women’s support programs here, and more recently, CMHA provided low-barrier, trauma-informed services from this location.
Forest City Healing Centre is honoured to continue this legacy of community-rooted, compassionate care, maintaining a spirit of dignity, recovery, and belonging.
