FCHC’s Mission, Visions, Values and Mandate

OUR VISION

Our Vision

To provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where men can begin a meaningful journey toward healing, stability, and personal growth. We envision a community where recovery is built through consistency, emotional safety, shared experience, and human connection—helping men develop the clarity, confidence, and footing needed to return to everyday life with purpose and direction.

OUR VALUES

Our Values

Our values guide how we show up each day for guests, families, staff, and community partners. They inform how we communicate, how we set boundaries, and how we create an environment that supports early recovery with dignity and respect.

  • Client-Centred, Trauma-Assumed Care
We approach each guest with respect for their lived experience, recognizing that safety, trust, and predictability are essential in early recovery.
  • Safety for Guests and Staff
We maintain clear structure, expectations, and accountability to support emotional and physical safety for everyone within the Centre.
  • Compassion and Empathy
We meet men where they are without judgement while encouraging responsibility, honesty, and personal growth.
  • Commitment to Responsibility
Recovery is supported through consistency, follow-through, and shared accountability between guests, staff, and the program.
  • Strong Community and Social Responsibility
We believe meaningful recovery is strengthened through connection to self, to others, and to the broader community.

OUR MANDATE

Our Mandate

  • Forest City Healing Centre exists to support men in early recovery by providing a non-medical, structured residential environment grounded in lived experience, emotional safety, routine, and accountability. Our focus is on helping men stabilize, reconnect, and build the foundation needed for long-term recovery.
  • We believe recovery is strengthened through human connection, shared experience, and consistent daily structure. Our role is not to treat or diagnose, but to create a respectful, predictable environment where men can begin practicing healthier patterns, develop self-awareness, and prepare for continued recovery beyond residential care.

Everything at Forest City Healing Centre reflects this intention—from our home-like setting and daily rhythm to our emphasis on dignity, responsibility, and steady support as men take their first meaningful steps forward.

Core Values

In alignment with our mission and vision, these core values guide how we support guests, work as a team, and engage with our community.

01
Client-Centred, Trauma-Assumed Care
We recognize that many men arrive carrying difficult life experiences. We prioritize emotional safety, respect, and individualized support that honours each person’s lived experience while encouraging accountability and growth.
02
Safety for Employees
A stable, supportive environment begins with a strong team. We are committed to maintaining a workplace that supports the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our staff so they can show up consistently and responsibly for guests.
03
Compassion and Empathy
We approach every interaction with respect, patience, and understanding. Recovery is not linear, and each journey is unique. We meet men where they are while supporting forward movement with clarity and care.
04
Commitment to Responsibility
We believe recovery is strengthened through shared responsibility. We hold ourselves accountable to our guests, our community, and one another through ethical decision-making, clear boundaries, and consistent follow-through.
05
Corporate Social Responsibility
We are committed to giving back to the community that shaped us. Our work is grounded in inclusion, equity, and service—contributing to a healthier, more connected community beyond the walls of the Centre.

This mandate guides every aspect of our work — from how we design and deliver programming, to how we lead, collaborate, and support one another. It reflects our commitment to creating a safe, structured, and respectful environment where men can begin recovery with clarity, dignity, and steady support. Through this shared responsibility, we continue to help individuals move toward healing, stability, and renewed hope.
